The MAFO editors visited for you DanYang – the Chinese city of spectacle lenses. 1,200 firms are located there and MingYue is one of the largest manufacturers there. The founders are the brothers Gongwan and Gongxing Xie and currently they employ about 1,200 people with an output of approx. 120,000 cast mono lenses and about 1,000 prescription lenses.
Have you been at the Ophthalmic Optics Forum (OOF) 2013 in DanYang? Over 100 participants from DanYang, Shanghai, Canton, Hong Kong, Singapore and Korea listened to the nine presentations by speakers from China, USA, Germany and the UK. In an interesting report about this event we will update you about the international optical industry meetings.
