5/2009: MAFO is five years old

This MAFO issue is our anniversary edition. Read in the article ‘Five exciting years’, written by Jörg Spangemacher, what happened in the passed years in the industry. Naturally we have visit the international Silmo show in Paris and wrote a report about the fair. 4/2009: On-block manufacturing

Dr. Frank Breme present the new OBM (on-block manufacturing) concept which brings true automation to the lens manufacturing process. This issues company profile ‘Diamonds are foreven’ introduces a company that works with very small but even so very important products for the industry: diamonds for lens manufacturing.
The special theme ‘semi-finished lenses’ is covered by two articles. Julien Buisson and Hiroyuki Morijiri give in the article ‘Is the sky the limit?’ some hints that an 1.8 index and higher is imaginable while Dr. Jagdish Jethmalani explains the differences between wavefront-corrected and wavefront-guided lenses.
