4/2010: A light in the dark

Did you ever had problems with driving in the dark, like dazzle, increased tireness or micro-sleep? Then you should read the article “A light in the dark”, about an additional ambient light that shines above the driver´s field of view and minimizes the typical problems by driving in the dark.
Jesús Cabeza writes an article about ‘Optimized low order prescription by incorporating wavefront data to the eye’. According to him subjective refraction has been practiced since long time without almost any change. Indeed, little attraction is being paid in the classical optometric practice to the quality of vision in low contrast or under low light conditions.
‘Evaluation of progressive addition lenses’ Is the headline of the article written by Bert-Elmar Pawlow and Dr. Hua Qi. Some PAL wearers have problems with so called ‘distortions’. The measurement of these distortions is a difficult matter and hard to perform with conventional measuring techniques. Read about a new approach to discribe and evaluate such image deformations.
The ‘Closing words’ are written by Henri Demarchi, Managing Director, TECO.
